KZNFPA and a number of FPA areas have teamed up with Firehawk whereby rotating digital cameras covering large forestry areas transmit information to a base station where the Firehawk software differentiates between fire, smoke, glow and automatically raises an alarm. 

Detection control rooms are located in Currys Post, Richmond and Kwambonambi and are operated 24/7/365 in the interest of subscribing landowners.
